Calliostoma scalenum Quinn, 1992 – Pulley Ridge – 20.7 mm – TSC

A beautiful deep-water specimen of Calliostoma scalenum, personally collected from Pulley Ridge in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This species is prized for its sharply conical profile, intricate beaded spiral sculpture, and attractive golden coloration.

This specimen displays a rich golden-amber color with numerous evenly spaced spiral cords covered in fine bead-like granules. The elevated spire, excellent symmetry, and strong sculptural detail give this shell exceptional eye appeal. The base exhibits the characteristic tightly beaded spiral pattern that makes Calliostoma species so desirable among collectors of deep-water gastropods.
