A superb deep-water specimen of Calliostoma scalenum, personally collected from Pulley Ridge in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This attractive species is recognized for its sharply conical shape, finely beaded spiral sculpture, and rich golden coloration.
This specimen displays exceptional color with vibrant golden-orange tones accented by darker spiral bands. The elevated spire is well preserved and the shell exhibits strong, evenly spaced beaded cords from apex to base. The underside shows the characteristic tightly sculptured spiral pattern that makes this species highly desirable among collectors of deep-water gastropods.
