A beautiful specimen of Chicoreus riverai Petuch & Berschauer, 2026, personally collected by me from Tortuga Terrace in the Dry Tortugas, Florida.
This recently described species was named in my honor for my contributions to the discovery and documentation of the deep-water molluscan fauna of the Dry Tortugas region.
This specimen has beautiful cream to pale yellow coloration with warm golden-brown highlights and excellent elaborate sculpture. The long branching varices and delicate fronds make this a particularly striking specimen. Original operculum included.
