Chicoreus riverai Petuch & Berschauer, 2026 – 44.7mm TSC#0498 w/o

I’m pleased to offer this beautiful specimen of Chicoreus riverai Petuch & Berschauer, 2026, a recently described species endemic to the Tortuga Terrace and Dry Tortugas, Florida. This species was named after me following its discovery during my deep-water lobster operations aboard the F/V AVA PILAR, where I collected and donated specimens that were used in the scientific description.

This specimen was personally collected by me in a baited lobster trap from 240–300 feet on the Tortuga Terrace. It displays the characteristic stocky profile, elaborate frondose varices, and bright orange protoconch that make this species so distinctive. The specimen comes with its operculum and has excellent overall eye appeal.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
