Beautiful deep-water Distorsio clathrata collected from the Dry Tortugas, Florida. This striking specimen displays rich golden-yellow coloration, heavy sculpturing, and sharply defined spiral cords with excellent contrast throughout the shell.
Collected in 180 feet using baited lobster traps, this specimen represents a very attractive example of this unusual deep-water species. The thickened outer lip, bold ribbing, and strong overall symmetry give this shell exceptional display quality.
A beautiful authentic Tortugas deep-water specimen from my personal collection.
