This beautiful Fasciolaria tulipa f. scheepmakeri was personally collected while commercial lobster fishing aboard my vessel, the F/V AVA PILAR. It was recovered alive from a baited lobster trap set in 220–240 feet on Pulley Ridge, west of the Dry Tortugas, Florida. Measuring an impressive 200.2 mm (7.88”), this specimen retains its original operculum and displays attractive cream, tan, and light orange coloration with a clean, glossy aperture.
Its large size, elegant proportions, and live-taken condition make it an excellent addition to any serious collection of Florida Fasciolariidae.

Fine Quality (FQ)
Condition
This live-taken specimen is graded Fine Quality (FQ) under the HMS-ISGS Shell Grading Standard. It retains its original operculum and exhibits a glossy aperture, pleasing natural coloration, and strong overall form. A visible healed growth line and minor handling wear consistent with commercial deep-water trap collection prevent it from qualifying as Gem Quality but do not detract from its impressive appearance or desirability.
