Fasciolaria tulipa (Linnaeus, 1758) – TSC #0820FAS-TSC

I’m pleased to offer this beautiful deep-water specimen of Fasciolaria tulipa, personally collected from my commercial lobster traps in the Dry Tortugas. This shell stands out for its rich chocolate-brown and cream color pattern, glossy surface, and well-preserved operculum.

The specimen displays bold, irregular dark brown flammules over a creamy background, creating a striking contrast across the body whorl and spire. The elongated siphonal canal, smooth white aperture, and attractive golden-orange interior margin give this shell excellent eye appeal. The original operculum is included, making it a complete collector specimen.

Condition

This specimen is in excellent collector condition with exceptional natural coloration and a beautifully preserved aperture. The shell retains strong sculpture, a glossy surface, and an intact siphonal canal. The original operculum accompanies the specimen.

A small area of natural wear and minor staining is present on the body whorl, consistent with deep-water trap-collected material, but does not detract from the overall appearance of the shell.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description and accurately represent the specimen’s condition.
