Lindapecten muscosus Red Orange Matched Pair Dry Tortugas 15.3mm

Beautiful deep-water Lindapecten muscosus Matched Pair personally collected in the Dry Tortugas during lobster trapping operations. This specimen displays a rich red-orange coloration with strong natural contrast and excellent symmetry between both valves.

The exterior shows intense fiery tones with delicate ribbing and preserved marginal detail, while the interior retains a soft glossy peach coloration. The deeper coloration on this specimen is especially attractive and uncommon for the species, making it a standout miniature scallop for collectors of rare Pectinidae.

Both valves are present and match well. Fine trap wear and minor imperfections are present, which is typical and expected for delicate deep-water lobster trap collected material.

Personally collected by Randy Rivera from 160–180 ft depths during baited lobster trapping operations in December 2025 aboard the F/V AVA PILAR.
