This Lindapecten muscosus scallop was collected by me while fishing lobster traps in the Dry Tortugas. Specimens like this come from deeper water along the Tortuga Terrace where lobster traps often bring up beautiful deep-water mollusks.
This matched pair shows strong radial ribbing with attractive natural coloration typical of the species. Deep-water Tortugas scallops like this are always desirable additions for collectors of Pectinidae.
Collected during the October 2025 lobster season aboard the F/V Ava Pilar.
