A beautiful and rarely offered matched pair of Lindapecten muscosus personally collected during deep-water lobstering operations off Pulley Ridge in the Dry Tortugas. This specimen displays exceptional frilled sculpture with strong radial ribs, delicate spination, and outstanding natural symmetry between both valves. The rich peach-orange coloration and heavily ornamented margins make this species especially desirable among deep-water Pectinidae collectors.
This matched pair retains both valves and shows remarkable detail for such a fragile species. The intricate flared ribs and finely spined edges are especially impressive under magnification. Deep-water scallops from Pulley Ridge are seldom encountered in this quality, particularly with both valves intact.
Personally collected by Randy Rivera aboard the F/V AVA PILAR in 240–300 feet using baited lobster traps in February 2026.
Some minor imperfections may be present, which are normal for delicate deep-water trap collected specimens.
