An exceptionally colorful matched pair of Lindapecten muscosus personally collected from the deep waters of the Dry Tortugas. This specimen displays outstanding reddish-brown and golden-orange coloration highlighted by bold cream-colored zigzag bands and intricate sculpturing across both valves. The dramatic contrast between the dark and light patterning creates a striking appearance rarely seen in matched pairs of this size.
The exterior exhibits strong radial ribbing with excellent texture and crisp detail, while the interior displays attractive translucent cream tones with subtle amber shading. Specimens exhibiting this combination of vivid coloration, intricate patterning, and intact hinge structure are highly desirable among collectors of Gulf of Mexico scallops.

Collector Notes
Personally collected from baited lobster traps fishing the deep waters surrounding the Dry Tortugas. The rich reddish-brown coloration and distinctive cream banding make this one of the more visually striking Lindapecten muscosus matched pairs from my collection. A beautiful representative specimen from one of Florida’s most productive deep-water shelling regions.
