This is a beautiful deepwater specimen of Naria acicularis, personally collected by me from Pulley Ridge in the Dry Tortugas.
This cowrie displays a rich golden-orange dorsum with fine, evenly distributed spotting, fading cleanly into a bright, polished base. The gloss is excellent, giving the shell that classic porcelain-like finish collectors look for in high-quality Cypraeidae.
The margins are well defined with clean, evenly spaced teeth, and the overall form is nicely balanced with a strong, natural profile. A very attractive example from deeper water, where specimens like this are far less commonly encountered.
