This beautiful West Indian Fighting Conch was personally collected by me while commercial lobster fishing at Pulley Ridge, Dry Tortugas, Florida. Recovered from a baited lobster trap set in 220–240 feet, this exceptional specimen displays rich chestnut and golden-orange patterning, a glossy finish, and a striking deep orange aperture.
Deep-water Strombus pugilis from Pulley Ridge are prized by collectors for their vibrant coloration and outstanding quality. This specimen exhibits bold patterning with excellent eye appeal and makes a wonderful addition to any Florida or Caribbean shell collection.
