Calliostoma scalenum Quinn, 1992 – Dry Tortugas – 19.2 mm – TSC

A beautiful specimen of Calliostoma scalenum, a distinctive deep-water top shell collected from the Dry Tortugas region of the Gulf of Mexico. This species is recognized for its sharply elevated conical profile, finely beaded spiral sculpture, and rich golden coloration.

This specimen displays excellent golden-orange color with contrasting lighter beaded cords throughout the shell. The spire is tall and intact, and the shell exhibits the crisp sculptural detail that makes this species highly desirable among collectors of Gulf of Mexico deep-water gastropods. The base is clean and well preserved, showing the characteristic concentric beaded sculpture typical of C. scalenum.
