Calliostoma scalenum Quinn, 1992 – Pulley Ridge – 22.1 mm – TSC

A beautiful and unusually large specimen of Calliostoma scalenum, personally collected from the deep waters of Pulley Ridge. This species is known for its sharply conical profile and intricate beaded spiral sculpture, and this specimen displays those characteristics exceptionally well.

The shell exhibits attractive golden-yellow to amber coloration with numerous finely beaded spiral cords covering the entire surface. The elevated spire, crisp sculpture, and strong symmetry make this a striking representative of the species. At 22.1 mm, this is an impressive-sized specimen for C. scalenum and would be a desirable addition to any collection specializing in Gulf of Mexico deep-water gastropods.
