Chicoreus riverai – 16.5 mm – Pulley Ridge GEM

Recently described by Petuch & Berschauer (2026), this Chicoreus riverai is a beautiful miniature specimen displaying vibrant orange coloration, crisp varices, and well-developed fronds. Collected from the deep waters of Pulley Ridge in baited lobster traps, this specimen represents one of the newest and most desirable western Atlantic muricids.

A gorgeous specimen with exceptional eye appeal. The shell retains outstanding color, sharply defined sculpture, and beautifully developed fronds. The aperture and siphonal canal are clean, and the specimen displays excellent overall symmetry. Any minute imperfections are consistent with normal deep-water trap collection and do not detract from its presentation.
