Fasciolaria riverai 206.3mm – Recently Described 2026 – Named After the Collector – Tortuga Terrace – Rivera Provenance

Impressive Fasciolaria riverai personally collected by me from the deep waters of the Tortuga Terrace in the Dry Tortugas while commercial lobster fishing aboard my vessel, F/V AVA PILAR.

 

This species was recently described by Petuch & Berschauer in 2026 and was named in my honor, making this specimen a particularly significant example tied directly to the discovery and documentation of the species.

Excellent large collector specimen displaying strong natural form and coloration. As typical with trap-collected deep-water shells, minor handling or trap marks may be present — normal for legitimately collected commercial fishery material.
