This beautiful Fasciolaria tulipa f. scheepmakeri was personally collected by me while commercial lobster fishing aboard my vessel, the F/V AVA PILAR. It was recovered alive from a baited lobster trap fishing in 220–240 feet on Pulley Ridge, west of the Dry Tortugas, Florida.
Measuring 179.0 mm (7.05 inches), this specimen displays a classic elongated profile with exceptional natural gloss, rich cream, tan, and golden-brown coloration, and a beautifully preserved white aperture highlighted by warm orange tones. The original operculum accompanies the shell, making it an especially desirable specimen for serious collectors.
The shell has excellent eye appeal, balanced proportions, and outstanding preservation, representing one of the finer live-collected examples from this deep-water population.
