Lindapecten muscosus – Orange Form Matched Pair – Dry Tortugas – 13.4mm

Outstanding deep-water matched pair of Lindapecten muscosus personally collected in the Dry Tortugas during lobstering operations. This specimen displays a rich glowing orange coloration rarely seen this intense in such a small species. The strong radial ribbing, symmetrical form, and vivid coloration make this an exceptional miniature scallop for collectors specializing in deep-water Pectinidae.

Both valves are present and retain excellent natural gloss and detail. The intense pumpkin-orange tone stands out beautifully against the sharply defined ribs and delicate margins. Small matched pairs with this level of color and preservation are very difficult to obtain from lobster trap material.

Personally collected by Randy Rivera in approximately 180 feet during lobster trapping operations in December 2025.

Some minor imperfections may be present, which are normal for delicate deep-water trap collected specimens.
