An attractive matched pair of Lindapecten muscosus personally collected from the Dry Tortugas. This specimen displays a distinctive checkered pattern of cream and reddish-orange markings across both valves, creating a striking mosaic appearance rarely seen with such symmetry. The combination of color and sculpture makes this a particularly appealing miniature scallop for specialized pectinid collections.
The exterior features strong radial ribs covered with delicate scale-like sculpture, while the interior exhibits soft pink, cream, and amber tones that complement the patterned exterior. The bold coloration and balanced shape provide excellent display value despite its small size.
