Beautiful Spondylus americanus displaying exceptional bright yellow, golden-orange, and creamy white coloration, with an impressive arrangement of long, delicate spines extending from the shell's surface. This striking specimen features intricate radial sculpture, numerous fine spines, and several exceptionally long projections that give it outstanding visual appeal.
The shell's brilliant golden-orange center transitions into soft yellow and ivory tones toward the outer edges. The interior displays attractive pale cream coloration with warm yellow highlights. A beautiful deep-water specimen from Pulley Ridge, an excellent addition to any Spondylidae collection.
Personally collected during legal commercial lobster fishing operations aboard the F/V AVA PILAR in the deep waters of Pulley Ridge near the Dry Tortugas, Florida.
