Fasciolaria tulipa f. scheepmakeri Kobelt, 1875 – TSC #0819FAS-TSC

I’m pleased to offer this exceptional specimen of Fasciolaria tulipa forma scheepmakeri, an uncommon and heavily sculptured variant of the Florida Tulip Shell. This specimen exhibits the bold spiral sculpture, inflated body whorl, elongated siphonal canal, and beautiful cream, tan, and chestnut coloration that make this form so desirable among advanced collectors.

I personally collected this specimen in the Dry Tortugas while fishing my commercial lobster traps in 180–200 feet of water. It is accompanied by its original operculum and represents one of the unique deep-water forms that I occasionally encounter.

Condition

This specimen displays the pronounced heavy sculpture and attractive patterning characteristic of Fasciolaria tulipa f. scheepmakeri. The shell has excellent eye appeal and is accompanied by its original operculum.

There is a small chip on the outer lip, as shown in the photographs. This minor imperfection does not detract from the shell’s overall display quality or desirability as a collector specimen. Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the description and accurately depict the shell’s condition.
